Developed as a result of Tourism South East’s work to encourage growth in quality pub accommodation, the Distinctive Country Inns website will guide you through some of the south east’s most beautiful and picturesque inns. Set in the rural surroundings of rolling hills, ancient woodlands, unspoilt countryside, rural market villages and tranquil waterways, whatever you are looking for, your inn is here.
All the 40 inns represented in the campaign have been individually assessed to ensure they meet a number of quality-linked criteria such as for accommodation, ambience, locality and dining.
All the pubs, from Dorset to Buckinghamshire to Kent, offer gentle rural pursuits for you to pursue. Whatever type of walk you are looking for, there are miles of beautiful footpaths with a selection of inns close by. Or, if you prefer two wheels, there are a number of cycle trails across the region, with something to suit everyone.
