Description:
The Isle of Wight is one of the last remaining strongholds of the rare, native Red Squirrel and Parkhurst is famously home to a large population of this shy individual. Opened by Professor David Bellamy, the Red Squirrel Viewing Hide is located in the Forestry Commission's Parkhurst Forest and resembles a log cabin. The hide is open at all times and free of charge along with the “Red Squirrel Safari” woodland trail, complete with unique chainsaw timber carvings and information points telling you more about the habitats and lives of red squirrels. You are not guaranteed to see a red squirrel but you will certainly have fun looking!
